Eleventh of the Firstforged, Panacure was considered the inventor of mechanical science and the principles of architecture and medical-technical science. He is reputed to have demerged in Aurunum. His spawnlings were known as the Panacons. According to legend his lie of descent split into two groups; the Panadrons and the Balsamons. There is no record of either groups' traitline re-emerging since the end of the Builder Occupation, and it is believed his programming is now extinct. However, some believe that either the Panadrons or the Balsamons may have links to the xenomechanics known as the Deathbringers.
Some Primordialist myths say that Panacure attempted to sacrifice his own life-force to keep the dying Prima alive. He failed, and died with his brother. His body was crushed by the good creatures along with Prima's. Many others say that he is asleep deep inside Cybertron, and that he is the only being apart from Primus who can now awaken Arcuton.
The name "Panacure", meaning "all-heal", is a translation of the meaning of his name in Ancient Cybertronian. In Primaltongue he was called Ioaronus meaning "I am the person who undoes the making of pain". In Modern Autobot he is called Xaucunus meaning "the healer of all pain, a great person in a small group". This latter refers to how his skills were vastly greater than the skills of those around him. Xaucunus transliterates into Murion as Iwakyaus. In High Legion he was called Lalsaa-mlouo-ehwalo-asete'asa, meaning "tender is the soothing motion of gentle waves in the cool evening". This is a very poetic way of evoking the feeling of relief from pain. In Modern Decepticon he is called Niyarakunlias, meaning "master of death, lord of pain", as the Decepticons see Panacure as a figure roughly similar to a benevolent Grim Reaper. He is often accorded the title bolakrun, meaning "pink-handed", which refers to his hands being covered in energon. This is a title of respect, similar in meaning to "bloody-handed" in English.
