Twelfth of the Firstforged, Studipatron was considered the creator of philosophy, the written arts and the theoretical sciences, or at least the codifier of these things into comprehensive bodies of doctrine. It is believed that many of Studipatro's traits continue in the programming of Novacrons. He is reputed to have demerged in Boltax. His spawnlings were known as the Students, whose fate is not recorded.

It is believed that he became a recluse from his fellows after continuously arguing with his brothers and scorning the Second Generation as inferior. Due to his isolation, he was swarmed and killed by the demons towards the very end of the Black Age. Some legends say that he was tempted by power offered to him by The Fallen and was destroyed by his brother when he refused the deal. Others say he accept the offer, made an allegiance with The Fallen and was consumed by the Great Devourer.

The name "Studipatron", meaning "creator of students" and "student of the creator", is a translation of the meaning of his name in Ancient Cybertronian. In Primaltongue he was called Omuvamandi meaning "I think, I am, I think I am". In Modern Autobot he is called Udivicasadis meaning "the great thinker, master of his profession". Udivicasadis transliterates into Murion as Udiwa Hegirius. In High Legion he was called Tecaelalsheu-eufa'teca, meaning "master of the sublimity of evening mist on calm water". This refers to the stillness of contemplation and mediation. In Modern Decepticon he is called Nuanshauhuazidran, meaning "he thought his thoughts went in all directions". This refers to both the breadth of Studipatron's knowledge but also infers that he spread his thoughts too widely. Translating the meaning of Nuanshauhuazidran into English, he would be called Stygaptron meaning "creator of stagnation" and "stagnation of the creator".
