Jalansalan

Page history last edited by koilungfish 3 years, 6 months ago

During the Brass Age, Cybertron was defended from xenos hostility by combined groups of Autobot-warbuild and Legion troops. These groups, consisting primarily of small, independent units using fast-action short-range energy crossbows, were called jalansalan [Brass Age Legion, trans. 'patriot shrapnel']. The jalansalan were dissolved due to rising tensions between Autobots and Legion late in the Brass Age.

After the Surrender of Kalis the Decepticons prepared for the invasion of Kaon. Much of the plan rested on the construction of a revised form of the jalansalan, the kernazeer [Seeker Decepticon, trans. "created strong"]. The Air Commander of the time had the idea to construct large numbers of small, material-cheap versions of Seekers armed with fast-action energy weapons in order to flood the battlefield with troops and defeat the Kaonis by sheer weight of numbers. The kernazeer were a failure, their low-intensity weapons failing to make much impresson on the heavily-armoured Kaonic front-line troops.

It is a matter of historical record that the Air Commander was personally beheaded by Lord High Commander Megatron for the massive waste of materials and time invested in the failed project. It is a matter of myth that his body was torn into four parts and buried in unmarked graves deep below four different cities. The kernazeer project was later revived and the schematics heavily re-worked into the prototype Chaser

The word jalansalan is preserved in modern Decepticon as zaran [Seeker dialect zaarn] meaning 'shrapnel'.
