[trans. "Dark Place"]: Cybertronian city-state founded as a factory-city for the creation of Cybertronians with artillery-based altmodes. Lack of demand for its citizens, who were oversized, highly fuel-consumptive and belligerent, lead to the state falling into decay until late in the Golden Age, when under the guidance of Emirate Shockwave Tarnaxis it rose to prominence as one of the most powerful states under Iacon. During the Vos-Tarn Limited Exchange, the city was levelled; it was later rebuilt and integrated into the state of Polyhex. Tarn remains one of the stronghold city-fortresses and the primary manufactory for solid-state artillery and artillery-form troopers. The city claims Megatron, Shockwave, Straxus and Trannis as its most famous creations. Emirate Xaaron was also built there. Tarn's main source of power is its massive nuclear reactors; the amount of nuclear waste littering the surrounding area has given Tarn a reputation as a dirty city. However, since Cybertron was blown out of orbit, and Vos and Helex lost their main sources of power, Tarn has become the main powerplant of Polyhex. Tarnish - from Tarn; perceived as being like someone from Tarn: an individual who is aggressive, brutal and powerful; an artillery piece that works efficiently when firing; [Autobot] brutish, dull-witted, crudely violent.
Metronoma: Tarnaxis ["dark city of the governor"]
City-state; Polar Torus member until the late Golden Age, when it became an self-governing independent. The state derives its name primarily from its position in the shadow of the Voe mountains, but also from its use of large quantities of radioactive material. The state is a centre for the production of artillery and tanks, nuclear reactors, and the importing and processing of radioactive material. The state is Primordialist. Tarn's citizens are referred to as the Tarnish or, [to outsiders attempting to be polite] Tarnaxians; they value forthrightness, simple and reliable technology, and strength in endurance.
