A section of the Air Wing, commanded by a wing commander and comprised of multiple subgroups. A wing is comprised of 25 mechanisms. 

A wing may be comprised of five pentads, eight trines and one individual, or any assemblage of aerial subgroups forming a total of 25 mechanisms. 

Wing commanders are stereotyped in Decepticon culture as being bad-tempered, overly harsh disciplinarians with a ferocious passion for regulating the behaviour of their troops, usually because the squadron leader they answer to is very lax in his duties. 

Autobots use the term 'wing' to refer to any group of Decepticon fliers numbering less than fifty.
